New Year inferno at Bangkok nightclub kills at least 58
BANGKOK (AFP) - Police forensic investigators sifted through the charred remains of an upscale Bangkok nightclub Thursday, seeking clues to a blaze that killed 58 revellers ringing in the New Year and injured 243.

OSLO (AFP) - Veteran mediator Martti Ahtisaari insisted Wednesday that all conflicts could be resolved and urged Barack Obama to strive to bring peace to the Middle East as he received the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize.
